The Power Brokers

The current political uproar, chaos and anarchy in Pakistan have again proven the strength of Military Junta. Mr. Tahir ul qadri and Imran Khan have been skillfully exploited by our honorable establishment. The entire drama was staged to provide a safe exit to former Military Dictator Pervez Musharraf. Although, Pakistani civil society has been awaken from slumber with an independent electronic media and a very powerful Judiciary but still in this country Military Generals are not accountable. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was very firm to deal with Musharraf, but again politicians hardly reach any consensus when they face Wardi Wala (Military Man). This Long March and Inqlab March should have been defused much earlier if Punjab Government had not committed horrendous mistakes. Secondly, Mr. Nawaz Sharif again responded a little late. He should have offer the setup of judicial Commission much earlier.

The lethargic attitude of our Prime Minister became a major reason for this mass gathering led by Imran Khan and his Party Hawks. Luckily, Mr. Sharif got an option to save his skin like a mature player of Politics. Instead of tilting towards Imran Khan and Tahir ul Qadri, Mr. Sharif rather preferred to bow his head before military establishment. Thus Military secured the life of his ex-boss and in return extended their favor for smooth running of Sharif’s Government. Azadi March will arrive Islamabad, people will sit and sleep on the roads, and leaders will deliver blistering speeches against government and leave the place peacefully and silently, if Taliban’s Suicide bombers were kept away from this huge crowd by Islamabad police. During the conclusion of these lines, Imran Khan’s Azadi March crossed Gujranwala with a little violence from PML (N) workers. I wish a safe return for all those people who are participating in this Azadi March.
